So correct! I know of a woman, now 83 yrs old, who desperately wanted her granddaughter to actually send a little note to acknowledge things like birthday gifts, an education fund, Christmas gifts, etc. However all the granddaughter would ever do is call her grannie on the phone. When the grandmother begged for a little note in the mail (we all like to receive mail) this is when the NEWS broke: the granddaughter could not write, nor could she read anything in cursive writing. She told her grandmother that she would have to get a computer or a cell phone because the only way the granddaughter could communicate in writing was on a keyboard. Yes, Kathleen Wynn, our money would be much better spent teaching children how to write. I know one grannie who would agree.
